Learning English is about so much more than grammar books and classroom exercises, it’s about expressing your ideas, sharing experiences and feeling confident enough to start a conversation with someone new. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the new Conversation Club at LSI London, a fantastic opportunity for students to practise their English in a relaxed, informal setting while enjoying one of London’s favourite social traditions: chatting over a coffee or tea!
Take your English beyond the classroom
Have you ever known exactly what you wanted to say in English but struggled to find the words when it was time to speak? Or perhaps you’ve wanted to join a conversation but weren’t sure how to begin?
You’re not alone! Developing speaking confidence takes practice, and the best way to improve is to use English in real-life situations.
The Conversation Club gives LSI London students the chance to put their classroom learning into practice in a friendly, supportive environment. Away from the classroom, students can relax, share their thoughts and enjoy conversations with fellow learners from different backgrounds and cultures. Whether you want to improve your fluency, expand your vocabulary or simply feel more comfortable speaking English, this is the perfect opportunity to get talking!
Coffee, conversation and British small talk
The new Conversation Club takes place every Monday at 3:50 PM. Students meet at the school reception before their teacher leads the group to a nearby coffee shop. t’s the perfect setting to practise everyday English naturally. After all, some of the most useful conversations happen outside the classroom, when you’re ordering a drink, meeting someone for the first time or chatting about your weekend!
Students will have the opportunity to practise their speaking skills in small groups, exchange ideas and explore the famous British tradition of small talk. From discussing the weather to talking about hobbies, travel, food and everyday life, even a simple conversation can become a valuable learning experience.
And who knows? Your next coffee could be the beginning of a great friendship!
No pressure, just conversation!
You don’t need to speak perfect English to join in. In fact, the whole point is to practise!
Making mistakes is a natural part of learning a language, and every conversation is an opportunity to improve. The LSI London Conversation Club offers a chance to experiment with new vocabulary, ask questions and learn from others in a welcoming atmosphere. You might arrive feeling a little shy, but after a few conversations, you could find yourself speaking more freely than you expected. Remember: confidence doesn’t come from waiting until your English is perfect, it comes from using it!
