Winter 2027 Junior Programmes: Travel, learn and experience a new city!
Are you looking for a different way to spend your January school break? Our Winter Junior Programmes are designed for students aged 12–17 who want to travel abroad, discover a new city while improving their English and make international friends. In January 2027, our Winter Junior Programmes are available in London Central, Brighton, Cambridge and San Diego, four exciting destinations only waiting for you to come live and learn the language in!
English lessons in an international environment
Our Junior courses are designed to help you develop your English skills in a structured and engaging way. Lessons focus on communication and the core skills of speaking, writing, reading and listening, while also building your knowledge of essential grammar and vocabulary. You learn through carefully designed materials created specifically for children and teenagers, with a strong emphasis on topic-based learning and group projects. This approach encourages you to use English actively, work with others and apply what you learn in meaningful and practical contexts.
A full programme of activities
All our Winter Junior Programmes include a varied schedule of cultural and social activities that complement your English learning. You’ll visit local sights and experience different parts of the city together with other students, including guided walking tours, famous landmarks, museums and galleries, cultural attractions, food markets, shopping areas, parks and zoos, as well as seasonal events and local neighbourhoods giving you a real understanding of the city and its culture. These activities also give you plenty of chances to use English naturally while you’re out and about, and it’s a great way to meet students from different countries with whom you will share the experience of being abroad and build friendships while discovering a new place together.
What will my days look like?
On your first Monday after arrival, you’ll join an orientation tour. During this, you’ll explore the school campus and surrounding area, learn about the programme rules and meet the LSI staff and teachers who will support you throughout your stay. After that, lessons begin. English classes take place in the morning, with short breaks between lessons 1 and 2 and lessons 3 and 4.
In the afternoons, you’ll head out to explore the city: you’ll take part in activities and visits, discover new places and spend time with other students while practising English in real-life situations. On Saturdays, you can join exciting full-day excursions to explore more of the region. Sundays are free, giving you time to relax, meet up with friends or enjoy the local area at your own pace.
