LSI Junior Summer Programmes offer young learners the opportunity to improve their English while experiencing life in a dynamic, international environment. Available in LSI schools across the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and France, each junior programme combines high-quality language tuition with a rich and engaging calendar of local activities and excursions, designed to help students make the most of their chosen destination.
Young learners join English classes taking place at the school, combining structured language learning with an engaging and supportive international environment. English lessons (or French lessons in France) are delivered by experienced, qualified teachers and are carefully designed to be interactive and communicative, with a strong focus on developing all key language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students are actively encouraged to participate, work in pairs and groups, and practise English in realistic situations that build both accuracy and fluency, helping them gain the confidence to use English naturally in everyday life and enjoy using it throughout their summer abroad.
Students not only develop their English skills in the classroom, but also reinforce their learning through a full programme of local activities and excursions. These experiences allow students to use English in real contexts while discovering some of the most iconic sights in each destination. In Brighton, students enjoy the charm of the coast with visits to the Seven Sisters Cliffs and Brighton Pier, in London, they explore world-famous landmarks such as the British Museum and the London Eye, in New York, they experience the energy of the city through the Empire State Building and Central Park and in Toronto, they discover vibrant local life at Kensington Market and Riverdale Park. Alongside these highlights, students also take part in sports, creative workshops and social activities with their peers, creating a balanced programme that brings learning to life and ensures a fun, memorable summer in every location.
LSI Junior Summer Programmes bring together students from different countries in an international environment where they can make new friends, share experiences and develop a broader global perspective. This supportive setting encourages independence, confidence and active participation, helping students grow both personally and academically. All LSI junior centres also prioritise student safety and wellbeing, with experienced staff present throughout the programme to ensure a secure and supportive environment where students can focus on learning and enjoying their time abroad. For younger learners aged 6 to 11, selected locations offer programmes with age-appropriate English lessons, providing a positive and engaging experience for all age groups.
