Student Activities
In addition to the wide selection of course offerings, LSI New York arranges daily after-class activities for students to get to know the city while practicing English outside of the classroom. These activities are optional and are typically free to attend or have a small cost. Recurring in-school activities include movie nights and arts and crafts. Excursions outside of the school may bring you to one of New York’s great museums or galleries, like the MoMA, the Met, and the Natural History Museum.
Staff at LSI New York work hard to make learning fun. So, once a week teachers and students join at the Killarney Rose, an iconic New York pub, to engage in conversation over drinks and snacks! It is a great way to apply speaking skills in a comfortable, non-academic setting.
Food
Being a very large multicultural city with a diverse population, New York has a food scene like no other! Visit Chinatown for cheap soup dumplings and steamed rice rolls, or head over to Williamsburg for a delectable bagel and lox sandwich. New York features cuisines from all over the world so there is a food for every taste. If you are ever overwhelmed by all the amazing choices, you can never go wrong with a classic New York slice of pizza!
There are many great lunch options in walking distance from the school. Some staff favorites include Sienna Pizza, Whole Foods, and Eataly!
School Mascot
While in class you may hear the pitter-pattering of paws on the lobby floor. That would be the sound of LSI New York’s school director, Jennifer’s, fur baby, aka Meeka! She is a loveable four-year-old cocker spaniel shih tzu mix. Meeka is proudly certified as a service dog and loves to provide support to all of the students.

Certificate
After successfully finishing your course, you will be awarded a certificate specifying the course title and your achieved level. To qualify for the certificate, you must attend a minimum of 80% of your classes. The Certificate makes a great souvenir that showcases the skills you learned at LSI New York!
