In the summer of 2018, LSI will be launching a new residential junior programme in Cambridge. This will be an exciting new addition to our international junior programmes as for the first time ever the full programme will be open to kids from 9 years and upwards. We will now be offering our youngest students the option of English classes only, English classes with activities , all the way up to the full package which includes full board accommodation.
And it doesn’t end there! Juniors under 12 will now be able to attend the course as independent students – they no longer need to be part of the family programme. We will still require that our youngest juniors , aged 9 to 11, are accompanied by an older sibling, or group leader if part of a group, when staying in the residence.
Gone also is the restriction on the number of weeks students on the full package can book on the UK programmes. Currently UK law allows a maximum stay of 4 weeks with a homestay host if the junior is a minor (under 16 years of age). These conditions do not apply to students staying in residences so potentially students can book for the entire length of the course. With increased course options and total flexibility, this programme is bound to prove a popular addition.
