LSI Boston hosted its first ever talent show, and it was a great success! Students and teachers sang, danced, played instruments, rapped, did gymnastics, and showed off their sports and martial arts skills (including a push-up contest between some male students and female martial arts—trained teacher Melanie, resulting in a tie after 60 push-ups). Everybody had a great time, learned new things about their fellow students and teachers, and we are definitely planning to do it again next year!
In conjunction with the food, our Saudi students provided entertainment to celebrate the end of Ramadan by performing a traditional folk dance. After they performed, they taught other students and LSI staff how to perform the dance!
Due to the overwhelming popularity and success of the potluck lunch, and countless requests from students to do it again soon, we plan to have similar parties four times per year. Next up: Halloween! Be sure to check out more photos and videos of the Talent Show and Potluck Lunch events at the LSI Boston Facebook page.
