LSI Education around the world
For more than 60 years, LSI Education has brought language learning to life through an international network of 14 schools (13 language schools and one sixth form college, LSI College) across the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France and Switzerland.
At LSI, language learning goes hand in hand with experiencing the country where the language is spoken, giving our students the chance to use the language they are learning in everyday situations and experience it as it is naturally used. Our students can learn English in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, French in France, and German in Switzerland. In the UK, students can choose between three LSI destinations: the energy and diversity of London, the relaxed seaside atmosphere of Brighton, and the academic heritage of Cambridge, each offering a distinctive setting in which to learn English and experience life in Britain. In the USA, students can choose between the energy of the East Coast, with schools in Boston and New York, or the sun-filled lifestyle of the West Coast, with schools in San Diego and Berkeley. Heading north, the LSI experience continues in Canada, from Toronto’s multicultural energy to Vancouver’s coastal setting where mountains, beaches and urban life come together, with both destinations offering our students plenty to experience beyond the classroom. Across the Pacific, LSI brings students to Australia and New Zealand, with schools in Brisbane and Auckland. Brisbane offers a relaxed subtropical setting, while Auckland combines a lively city atmosphere with easy access to beaches, islands and New Zealand’s distinctive natural landscape. In France, our school in Paris gives students the chance to learn French in one of the world’s most iconic cities, surrounded by its culture, history, art and unmistakable Parisian way of life, and in Switzerland, students can learn German in Zurich, a vibrant, international city where Swiss culture meets a dynamic urban lifestyle. With the lake and mountains close by, Zurich offers plenty to explore beyond the classroom, from its historic old town and lively cultural scene to its cafés, shops and outdoor spaces.
Whether learning English in the UK, Canada, USA, Australia or New Zealand, or French in Paris and German in Zurich, our students are immersed in the language from the moment they arrive. Learning a language where it is spoken gives students the opportunity to put their classroom learning into practice throughout their stay. As they interact with people, navigate daily life and experience the local culture, they encounter the language in real contexts and develop a more natural understanding of how it is used, while also gaining insight into the host country’s culture and way of life.
Broadening students’ horizons is at the heart of the LSI experience, with language learning providing a gateway to new countries, cultures, people and perspectives. Since 1965, LSI has welcomed students from around the world, and over more than six decades, this international experience has shaped a global network of schools, partners and relationships that connects students with opportunities well beyond the classroom. By living and learning in another country, students gain far more than language skills; they develop the confidence and independence that come from navigating a new environment, while building the intercultural understanding needed to communicate and connect across cultures. These experiences can shape the choices students make long after their time at LSI, whether that means pursuing further international study, seeking opportunities abroad or taking the first steps towards a career with a global outlook.
For many students, the value of an LSI experience lies in this combination of language, travel and personal development: the chance to step outside the familiar, discover what lies beyond it and return with the skills, confidence and perspective to take on new opportunities.
