LSI Berkeley recently held a Halloween celebration complete with costumes, pumpkins, games and of course, lots of candy! Staff and students dressed up in a variety of costumes ranging from Harry Potter to witches to a Sriracha hot sauce bottle. A costume contest was held, with Kenya from Japan receiving the top prize for his Alice in Wonderland costume.
Students also got a chance to partake in other traditional Halloween activities, such as pumpkin carving and bobbing for donuts. Bobbing for donuts is a game in which participants have to eat a donut hanging from a string without using their hands. Students quickly realized that this is a lot trickier than they expected! Overall it was a very festive day and students enjoyed getting to see how Halloween is celebrated in the U.S.
