{"id":583,"date":"2011-03-29T15:33:37","date_gmt":"2011-03-29T14:33:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.lsi.edu\/?p=583"},"modified":"2013-11-19T15:58:58","modified_gmt":"2013-11-19T14:58:58","slug":"lsi-london-hampstead-celebrates-red-nose-day-and-raises-500-for-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lsi.edu\/index.php\/2011\/03\/lsi-london-hampstead-celebrates-red-nose-day-and-raises-500-for-charity\/","title":{"rendered":"LSI London Hampstead celebrates \u2018Red Nose Day\u2019 and raises \u00a3500 for charity!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Friday <a title=\"LSI London Hampstead\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lsi.edu\/en\/english\/england\/london-hampstead\/school\" target=\"_blank\">LSI London Hampstead<\/a> raised a fantastic \u00a3500 for <a title=\"The Comic Relief charity website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.comicrelief.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Comic Relief<\/a>, a charity working across the world to combat poverty and social injustice. Students and teachers came together to participate in a range of money making activities including the buying and selling of cakes in the school lounge and singing karaoke in front of the whole school. Some brave teachers even volunteered to have wet sponges thrown at them in an attempt to raise more money for the Comic Relief cause.<\/p>\n<p>Every class played their part: Intermediate 3 sang a version of the Beatles song \u2018Ob la di ob la da\u2019, and an Upper-Intermediate group were sponsored to wear their pyjamas to school, making an impressive total of \u00a392 in sponsor money in the process.<\/p>\n<p>School director, Greg Wickline, praised the efforts of the staff and students \u201cEverybody put a lot of work into making the day a really special one.
