LSI Student Wins A Free Amazon Fire Tablet

Wednesday, April 26th, 2017

Last month we highlighted a competition run by CourseFinders.com.  Visitors to the site are asked to leave  reviews for language schools where they have studied. In return, ten lucky winners every month receive free Amazon Fire tablets.

Already quite a few LSI students, both past and present, have entered the competition and have left lovely reviews.  One lucky student, Lutfu Aksel, hit the jackpot with his review.  He was one of the 10 lucky winners in April. Lutfu is Turkish and arrived at LSI Boston in November to study on our General 20 course. Originally he planned to study until February but has enjoyed his time so much that he has extended his course three times. We asked him to tell us his thoughts about LSI Boston and his reaction to his win.

“I am excited to win tablet at LSI! I love studying at LSI. When I first came Boston, I don’t speak any English, but now, I can speak English with my friends from many countries. I can get better job in Turkey because of English and LSI. Teachers and staff and LSI are very friendly and very helpful. I enjoy studying at LSI so much, I extended my class 3 times.”

Thank you to Lutfu and to all the other students who have left their reviews for LSI on Coursefinders.com.

New University Pathway for LSI Vancouver

Tuesday, April 18th, 2017

LSI Vancouver have just signed a university pathway agreement with the prestigious Acsenda School of Management. This local business college offers degree programmes in business management.  LSI students will now be accepted onto the college’s undergraduate courses once they have attained a C grade or higher on the LSI Cambridge CAE course .

Business Courses at Acsenda

A BA in Business Administration takes 4 years to complete. However students with credits from degree programmes at  recognised universities worldwide can transfer these to Acsenda. In this case, degrees courses at the college can take up to 2 and half years to complete. While studying at Acsenda,  international students can work up to 20 hours a week. After finishing their programme they can apply for a post graduate work permit, enabling them to work in Canada for as long as they had studied on their degree course.

We feel that this new pathway agreement presents an exciting opportunity for both current and future LSI students.  Our students can continue their studies whilst acquiring highly marketable skills in business management.
